All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ EDGAR ALFRED LEVINE Edgar Alfred Levine, age 87, of 914 Chestnut Avenue, DuBois, died Sunday, December 31, 2006 at the DuBois Regional Medical Hospital. He was born October 26, 1919 in Altoona, the son of the late Jacob and Ida Frank Levine. He was married to Leona Hoffman who preceded him in death January 30, 2003. Surviving are two sons: Richard Stephen Levine of Pittsburgh and Lewis H. Levine of Salvador, Brazil and two brothers: Charles B. Levine of State College and Morris Levine of Tyrone. He was preceded in death by a brother Nathan Levine. Mr. Levine was a member of the Sons of Israel Synagogue where he had served as President for more than 50 years. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He was a graduate of Altoona High School and owned and operated the Levine Brothers Clothing Store in DuBois for 50 years prior to his retirement. He was a former trustee of the DuBois YMCA and a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a 10 K runner and an avid tennis, racketball and handball player.
