A Respected Citizen of Northwood Passed Away. Saturday last at 6.40 o'clock Edwin H. Levy, one of the best known and highly respected citizens of this community, died at his home at Northwood, of plural pneumonia. About one week ago, Mr. Levy caught a cold which quickly went to his lungs and caused pneumonia to set in. Being a man well up in years, his constitution was not strong enough to battle with the ravages of the disease, he gradually grew weaker until the end came this morning at the above mentioned time. Edwin H. Levy was born at Geryville, Buck County [sic], January 25, 1842. He resided in the southern part of the state until he reached young manhood, coming to Tyrone about forty-five years ago. Shortly after coming here he was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Snyder, who with the following children survive to mourn a loving husband and father's death: Edwin, H., Chicago; Mrs. Annie Beyers, Howard W., Charles F., at home; Mrs. Jesse McMahon, Beaver Falls; Mrs. Harry Robinson, Tyrone and Mrs. Chester Hughes, Altoona. He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Emanuel, Jeremiah and Mrs. Mary Hendricks, of Philadelphia. Mr. Levy was a faithful employee of West Virginia Pulp and paper company; he was a member and regular attendant of the First Lutheran church. He was also a member of the W.V.P. and P. Relief association. Funeral services were held at the home at Northwood on Monday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Dr. Aurand, of York. Interment in Grand View cemetery.
