HOWARD E. LEWIS

70, of 808 E. Crawford Ave., died Wednesday evening, Sept. 27, 1995, at 
Altoona Hospital.  He was born Oct. 11, 1924, in Altoona, the son of 
Amos E. & Laura Jane (Diehl) Lewis.  He married Elizabeth Marie Corso 
on June 9, 1948, in Altoona.  Mr. Lewis was a member of Wesley Memorial 
United Methodist Church.  He retired as a central heat supervisor from 
the Altoona Area School District in 1986, after 40 years of service. 
Mr. Lewis was a 1942 graduate of Altoona High School and an Army 
veteran of World War II.  Surviving are his wife, a brother, Robert C. 
of Altoona and a sister, Mildred G. Hauck of Altoona.  Friends will be 
received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Stevens Mortuary. 
 
LEWIS - Services for Howard E. Lewis of 808 E. Crawford Ave. will be 
held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Chapel of Stevens Mortuary, by the 
Rev. Bruce Bardine.  Interment at Calvary Cemetery.  Friends will be 
received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Stevens Mortuary Inc., 
1421 8th Ave.
