Light, 1911 Hamlin ave., died Thursday at 11 p.m. at the Altoona Hospital following an extended illness. He was born Sept. 15, 1901, at Tyrone, the son of John and Matilda (Dixon) Light. He was married Aug. 6, 1920, at Tyrone to Lovey Kennedy. He had been a lifelong resident of Tyrone. He is survived by his wife and these sons and daughters: Robert L. Tyrone RD 3, Vail; L. Ray, R. Charles and Mrs. Earl (Pauline) McKinney, all of Tyrone; Mrs. William (Marian) Hall, Alexandria; William D., Altoona; Melvin E., Madera; 31 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. A son, Sgt. Paul Light, was killed in Sicily during World War 2. He is also survived by these brothers and sister: Harry Light, Bellefonte; Robert Light and Mrs. Margaret Brower, both of Tyrone. Five brothers and a sister preceded him in death. He was a retired employee of the Grier School at Birmingham. Funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Cox Funeral Home, Warriors Mark, in charge of the Rev. Bryan K. Swartwood. Interment will be made in Baughman Cemetery.
