Love 'Lovey' Light  Altoona Mirror  9/23/2002

Love "Lovey" Light, 97, formerly of 1911 Hamlin Ave., Tyrone, and a resident of 
Valley View Home, Altoona, since April 8,1999, died Sunday morning, Sept. 22, 
2002, at the home. She was born March 17,1905, at Fowler Hollow, Port Matilda 
RD, a daughter of Thomas and Anna (Walk) Kennedy. She was married in August 
1920, to Jesse J. Light, who died in November 1974. Mrs. Light is survived by 
three sons: Ray L. and his wife, Dolores of Altoona; William D. and his wife, 
Priscilla, of Fairburn, Ga., and Charles and his wife, Bonnie, of Clarks Hills, 
S.C.; two daughters: Marian J. Hall of Alexandria, Pa., and Pauline McKinney 
and her husband, Earl, of Tyrone; 33 grandchildren; 77 great-grandchildren; 28 
great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the last of 
her immediate family, being preceded in death by three sons: Paul J., Robert 
and Melvin; two sisters: Donna M. Decker and Nancy "Nannie" Weaver; and two 
brothers: William Spencer and Thomas Kennedy.  She was a former member of 
Tyrone Christ United Methodist Church. She was a Gold Star Mother. She was a 
homemaker and family matriarch and was fond of quilting, crocheting and poetry. 
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept.24, 2002, at 
Derman Funeral Home Inc., Tyrone,where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. 
Wednesday with the Rev. Gregg Lake officiating. Interment will follow at 
Baughman Cemetery, Snyder Township, Pa. Contributions in her memory may be made 
to the Leukemia Society of America, Two Gateway Center, Pittsburgh PA
