Names of Those Who Have Joined the Great Majority. G. Richard Lingenfelter, a well known resident of the Sixth ward, fell dead at his home, 2103 Ninth avenue, at 5.45 o'clock Friday evening of apoplexy. He had been unwell for several days, but walked over town Friday afternoon, returning, apparently, in his usual health. While sitting in the dining room he suddenly fell off his chair to the floor. Dr. Morrow was hastily called, but he pronounced him dead of apoplexy. The deceased was born in Greenfield township, May 12, 1946. In his youth he followed farming on the old homestead and in 1881 came to Altoona, entering Stoke's planing mill, where he has since been employed. He was unmarried and a member of Christ Reformed church. Deceased is survived by the following brothers and sisters: William and Mrs. John Fish, of Philipsburg; Mrs. Philip Hoffer, of Portage; Mrs. Fred Gonsman, of East Freedom; Albert, M. G., Mrs. Daniel Downs, Mrs. Wesley Downs and Mrs. Sarah Rhodes, of Altoona. Altoona Tribune, Thursday, February 9, 1899
