All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ LINGENFELTER Pierce Lingenfelter, a highly esteemed resident of Freedom township, died at his home near East Freedom at 10.50 Wednesday night of apoplexy. He had been ill with la grippe for two weeks and was stricken with apoplexy a day before he died. Mr. Lingenfelter was a son of David (deceased) and Isabel Lingenfelter and was born near where he died, Jan. 13, 1853. He followed lumbering most of his life. He was a good citizen, kind father and husband and enjoyed the esteem of a large circle of friends. He is survived by his wife, Clara Lingenfelter; two sons, Warren of Hollidaysburg and Wilson at home; five grandchildren, his aged mother, two brothers and two sisters: Austin and Harry of East Freedom, Mrs. Philip Ott of McKee and Mrs. George Corl of Taylor township. He was a member of the Claysburg lodge of Odd Fellows and the Junior Order United American Mechanics at East Freedom. Altoona Times, Altoona, Pa., Friday Morning, April 26, 1918
