LITTLE, An esteemed and well-known resident, died at the residence of his son, R. W. Little, 120 East Fourth avenue, at 5:20? o'clock last evening. His death resulted from paralysis. Mr. Little had been employed in the lower shops as a car builder. Four years ago he fell off a trestle and since then he had been an invalid and unable to work. He was born in Franklin county, and was 71 years and 6 months old. He served in the Union army and throughout the civil war, and was a member of the One Hundred and Twenty-ninth regiment, Pennsylvania volunteers. Mr. Little had been a resident of Altoona for twenty-two years, coming to the city from Williamsburg, where he had been employed at the iron works. For thirty-five years the subject of this sketch had been a Christian, and his life was lived consistently with his belief. He was a member of the Fifth Avenue Methodist church. He had membership in the Grand Army of the Republic. The deceased is survived by his wife, Sarah J., three sons, William M., of Chicago, and R. W. and E. J., of this city; one brother, Samuel, of Tyrone; three sisters, Mrs. J. J. Miller, of Tyrone; Mrs. Kat Barr, of Mahaffey, Clearfield county, and Mrs. Annie Jones, of Franklin county. The funeral services will be conducted at the house at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning; interment in Fairview cemetery. Altoona Mirror, Monday, September 25, 1899, page 8
