Lloyd, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Lloyd, of this city, died of valvular disease of the heart at Philadelphia on Saturday, February 3. Miss Lloyd's illness dates back to February, 1899, at which time she was stricken with typhoid fever while the family was spending the winter at Old Point Comfort, Va. For weeks her life was despaired of, and when finally the fever yielded Miss Lloyd's system was hopelessly shattered. When she had gained sufficient strength to come home it was hoped that health and vigor might be gained in time, but heart disease developed and her nearest friends realized that death, which ever loves a shining mark, would in a very short time claim another victim. Miss Lloyd's death was calm and peaceful, a fitting close to a well spent life. The subject of this sketch was born in Nashville, Tenn., October 11, 1866, but was reared in Altoona, where she received her elementary education. She finished her education in New England. She had a remarkably strong personality, and while dignified and reserved in her bearing, was the delight of a large circle of friends, who will be shocked to know that their warm-hearted and generous companion is no more. The funeral services will be held in the Logan house parlors this afternoon at 2.30 o'clock and will be conducted by Rev. A. S. Woodle, rector of St. Luke's Episcopal church, and Rev. Dr. D. H. Barron, pastor of the Presbyterian church of Hollidaysburg. Interment private. Morning Tribune, Monday, February 5, 1900 LOCAL BREVITIES. Funeral services over the remains of Miss Jane E.
