Our Hollidaysburg correspondent writes: Death has again visited our community, and this time has taken Mrs. Mary, the wife of our esteemed fellow citizen, Captain A. M. Lloyd, of Gaysport. The death, although for the past week was entirely not unexpected, occurred yesterday morning a few minutes after 4 o'clock. Mrs. Loyd [sic] was seized with a chill about six weeks ago, but being a woman of robust health and vigor, she herself attached but little importance to it, and insisted on pursuing her usual household duties. But the malady continued and finally terminated with catarrhal pneumonia and pleurisy, which resulted fatally. Mrs. Lloyd was a kind and affectionate wife and mother and was endeared to all with whom she associated. She was dearly attached to her home, and being of a naturally retiring disposition, mingled but little in society circles. She was a good Christian woman and unwavering in her faith. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Barr and was born near Blairsville, Indiana county, on the 24th of September, 1824. She arrived at this place with her parents, who settled in Gaysport, in March, 1839. She was happily united in marriage with Captain A. M. Lloyd on February 4, 1847. She is survived, in addition to her bereaved husband, by one son, Mr. Thomas P. Lloyd, and two daughters, Mrs. John P. Reilley, of Philadelphia, and Mrs. T. Dal. Wilkins, of Altoona. Mr. S. S. Barr is a brother and Mrs. George W. Porter, Mrs. C. A. McFarland and Mrs. William McNamara are sisters of the deceased. The funeral will take place Monday afternoon. Services will begin at 2 o'clock at the residence of Captain Lloyd on Newry street, Gaysport. Interment in the Presbyterian cemetery. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Saturday, December 6, 1890
