Edward Lockard died yesterday morning at his home, 1210 1/2 Seventeenth street, about 2 o'clock, of diseases incident to old age. He was in his seventy-fourth year, having been born in December, 1833, in County Sligo, Ireland. He had resided in this country about fifty years. Most of this time he lived on a farm at McGarvey's station, having only within a year moved to Altoona, having sold his farm to the city as a site for the new reservoir. Mr. Lockard was married to Miss Bridget Welsh on July 14, 1865, who survives to mourn her loss, as do also the following children: Mrs. Annie Mankis and John, of Pittsburg; Mrs. W. S. Stall, of Philadelphia; Mrs. V. T. Adams, of Altoona; E. A., P. F., T. V. J. J., William and Ella, at home. The deceased was a life long member of the Roman Catholic church, being connected with St. John's congregation in this city. He was also a member of St. John's Altar society. The funeral will take place on Monday morning. The body will be taken to St. John's pro-cathedral, where requiem mass will be said at 9:30. Interment in Calvary cemetery.
