At five minutes past 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon Mrs. Mary G. Lockard died at her home in Logan township, north of the city, of paralysis of the throat, after a brief illness. Mrs. Lockard, whose maiden name was Jacobs, was born in Huntingdon county, and was aged 72 years, 9 months and 16 days. She was the widow of Silas Lockard and had spent most of her days in Altoona. She leaves four sons, all residing in Altoona - William, H. B., R. S., and S. M. Also one brother, Robert Jacobs, residing in Johnsonburg, Pa. From early girlhood she was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, and at the time of her death a communicant at the Chestnut avenue church. Funeral services will be conducted at the residence of her son, William Lockard, 1418 Seventeenth avenue, at 2 o'clock to-morrow afternoon by Rev. Horace Lincoln Jacobs. Interment in Fairview cemetery.
