At an early hour on Saturday morning, John Locke, a bright, active young man of about eighteen years, died at the home of his grandmother, Mrs. John Cresswell, near Cresswell station, on the branch railroad. He was in the best of health and spirits a few days before, and his untimely taking off through a sudden attack of cerebro-spinal meningitis, was a sad stroke to his relatives. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Locke, who predeceased him several years, and is survived only by a younger sister Alice. He was a young man of pleasing and affable address; imbued with many manly qualities, highly esteemed by his youthful associates and his future was wreathed with promise. The funeral service will be conducted by Rev. D. H. Barron at the home of Mrs. Cresswell this morning, at 11.30 o'clock. The remains will be brought here on the 1.10 o'clock train, and interred in the Presbyterian cemetery.
