LONG Formerly of near Newry, died at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon in the Wicker convalescent home. He was a former farmer and carpenter, had operated the L. N. Long & Sons Bus company, and served as tax collector and school director of Blair township. Mr. Long was born at Blue Knob May 10, 1866, a son of Jeremiah and Sarah (Burger) Long, and married Andora Whysong, who died Nov. 27, 1927. Two sons and one daughter, Harry, Wilbur and Mary, also preceded him in death. Surviving are six sons and one daughter, Clarence of Bettsville, O., Samuel, Ira, Blair and Mrs. Belle Shaw of Duncansville, R.D., Elmer and Raymond of Altoona; 39 grandchildren, three brothers and one sister, James of Blue Knob, Benjamin of Claysburg, Ira of Altoona and Mrs. Edna Mobley of Los Angeles, Calif. Friends will be received at the Laughlin funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening. Altoona Mirror, February 19, 1957
