After a lingering illness of consumption David Longenecker departed this life on Saturday afternoon at half past 5 o'clock, at his home, 2613 Fifth avenue. Deceased was born in this city November 27, 1865. At an early age he began his trade as a tinsmith and worked in the Altoona shops at this profession almost all his life. On January 22, 1890, he was married to Miss Sadie Hagerty. Mr. Longenecker was a member of the Second Lutheran church of this city for sixteen years. A wonderful patience and resignation marked his sufferings, his illness dating from early March. He was a dutiful son, a kind husband, a devoted father, and had a wide circle of friends. He leaves to mourn his loss a widowed mother, Mrs. Sarah Longenecker, his wife and two children, Clare, aged 7, and Esther, aged 5. The funeral will take place at the house this (Monday) afternoon at 3 o'clock. Services to be conducted by Rev. J. F. Hartman, pastor of the Second Lutheran church. Interment in Fairview cemetery.
