Tyrone Daily Herald, August 20, 2004 DONALD E. LONGENECKER Donald E. Longenecker, 74, of 604 W. 15th St., Tyrone died Thursday, August 19, 2004 at 5:30 p.m. at Altoona Hospital after a brief illness. He was born February 26, 1930 in Tyrone, a son of the late William S. and Mary E. (Cain) Longenecker. On September 18, 1954 at St. Vladimer's Eastern Orthodox Church, Smithmill he married Ella Jane Lashinsky. Surviving is his wife, two daughters, Doreen Longenecker at home, Donna Campbell and husband Kevin of York and three grandchildren, Matthew, Rachel and Noah Campbell. He was preceded in death by two brothers, George and William. Mr. Longenecker retired in 1972 on disability as a Machinist for Chicago Rivet and Machine Company, Tyrone. He was a member of St. Vladimer's Eastern Orthodox Church, Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Fire Company and a life member of the Howard Gardner American Legion. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War serving as a Staff Sergeant. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 23, 2004 at 10 a.m. at St. Vladimer's Eastern Orthodox Church, Smithmill with Fr. Paul Bigelow officiating. Interment will follow at Beulah Cemetery, Ramey. Friends will be received at the Feller Memorial Home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of services. Tyrone Daily Herald, August 21, 2004
