Mrs. Sophia Longenecker, wife of David S. Longenecker, died at the home of her husband in Roaring Spring, on Thursday of last week, March 28, aged 72 years, 10 months, and 18 days. The deceased's maiden name was Gump and she was born near Rainsburg, Bedford county. She was twice married. Her first husband Erastus Akers, long since deceased. Two children were born to this union, John T. Akers of Duncansville and E. J. Akers of Brooks Mill. Her children to the second marriage are Dr. Frank Longenecker of Emporium, Kansas, Mrs. Margaret Mann of Everett and Miss Amanda Longenecker. Funeral services were held on Saturday morning in the Methodist Episcopal church. Mr. D.S. Longenecker husband of the deceased is in feeble health at this writing.
