LOOMIS Died suddenly at his home in Harrisburg on Tuesday. Altoona relatives received a letter Tuesday morning saying he was well and at 6 o'clock that evening a telegram arrived saying he had died. Deceased was born at Halifax, Dauphin county, on December 27, 1842. He was a painter by trade. He came to Altoona in 1876 and worked for the railroad company and outside painters until thirteen years ago, when he went to Harrisburg, where he has since resided. He leaves a wife, whose maiden name was Harriet Toms, and four children: M. M. Loomis, the storekeeper at Eleventh avenue and Ninth street; G. W. Loomis, of this city; Mrs. Ivy Killinger, of Fairview, and Miss Ellie, at home. Mr. Loomis was a veteran of the Civil war, having served in company H, One Hundred and Ninety second Pennsylvania Volunteers. The remains were brought to Altoona at 3 o'clock this afternoon and taken to the home of Mrs. Killinger, 621 Oak avenue, from where the funeral will take place tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock.
