LORD, Son of Thomas H. and Wella Lord, died at the West Penn hospital, Pittsburg, at 3:30 o'clock yesterday morning, of injuries received in a railroad accident last Thursday. He was employed as a brakeman on the Pittsburg, Virginia and Charleston railroad. While at working making a "cut," he neglected to step far enough from the track and was thrown down, run over and badly crushed about the body. His parents were notified and left immediately for his bedside, and were present when he passed away. The unfortunate young man was born in Clearfield county and was aged 21 years and 4 months. Besides his parents, he is survived by three sisters and three brothers. The remains were brought to this city on Philadelphia express last night and conveyed to the home of his parents, 2923 Pine avenue. Altoona Mirror, Tuesday, September 19, 1899, page 8 FUNERAL NOTICE. The funeral of the late Howard Lord took place from his home today at 2 o'clock. Revs. Feltwell and Hoke officiated. Interment will be made in Fairview cemetery.
