Lotz Who resided with a daughter, Mrs. Pauline Hastings, at 13__ Logan Ave., Tyrone, died at __ a.m. today in the Millier Nursing Home, Frankstown, after ___ weeks' illness. She was born in Sinking Valley on February 28, 1871, a daughter of Thomas M. and Sara [Stove] Fleck and on March 15, 1899, married Harry C. Lotz, who died in February 1944 [error March 1944]. Surviving are three children: Thomas M., of Sherburne, N.Y., Mrs. Pauline L. Hastings of Tyrone and Mrs. Beatrice L. Howard of Wilmington., Del. seve[n] grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was a member of St Johns Lutheran Church and Missionary Society, Sinking Valley, and of the Sinking Valley Grange. Friends will be received at the Graham & Getz Funeral Home, Tyrone, after 2 p.m. tomorrow. Altoona Mirror, February 21, 1963 ____________________________________________ HARRY C. LOTZ Well known retired Sinking Valley farmer, died at the home of his son- in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hastings, 624 West Fifteenth Street, Tyrone, yesterday morning at 9 o'clock following an extended illness. Mr. Lotz had been in failing health for the past year. Harry Crawford Lotz was a son of George and Catherine [Fleck] Lotz and was born in Sinking Valley, Tyrone township, on March 1, 1864. On March 15, 1890, at the Thomas Fleck homestead in Sinking Valley, he was married to Miss Annie Fleck. With the exception of a few years in early life, he had been a lifelong resident of Sinking Valley and prominent in all activities in the valley. He is survived by his wife; one son, Thomas M. Lotz, Romulus, New York; two daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Howard, Philadelphia, and Mrs. Pauline Hastings, of Tyrone; also five grandchildren, and one brother, Edward Lotz, of Hollidaysburg. Mr. Lotz was a member of St Johns Lutheran church, Sinking Valley, and a trustee of the church; also active in the Sunday school, having served many years as treasurer. he was also an honorary member of the Missionary society. He was prominent in grange activities for many years, being a member of Sinking Valley grange, No 484, and served as treasurer for many years. He also served for 30 years as tax collector in Tyrone township. Friends are being received at the Graham and Getz funeral parlors, Tyrone. Altoona Mirror, February 18, 1944
