LOWE Residing at 519 Crawford avenue and custodian of the Goldschmid building, died at 11.30 o'clock yesterday morning at the Altoona hospital, following an extended illness. Mr. Lowe was a son of Cyrus B. and Rebecca Jane Lowe and he was born in Huntingdon, March 11, 1875. He became a resident of Altoona in his childhood and resided here the remainder of his life. He was for an extended period in the railroad service in the shops. Noted as a musician, he was widely known as a pianist and pipe organ player and he was a member of church choirs at various times. One of a large family of his parents, he is survived by one brother, William J. Lowe, a retired railroad executive who resides in Cincinnati, O., while there are a number of nieces and nephews, the children of his brothers and sisters, Robert J. and Landon Lowe, Mrs. Mary Maher, Mrs. Martha Martin and Mrs. Lena Martin, the last named, now deceased, the wife of Joseph F. Martin, at whose home on Crawford avenue he resided. Mr. Lowe was never married. He was a member of St. Mark's Catholic church. The body reposes at the Martin residence. LOWE - Funeral services for John C. Lowe, 519 Crawford avenue, will be held with requiem high mass from St. Mark's Catholic church, Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock. Interment in St. John's cemetery.
