Lower died at his home, 1612 Eleventh street, at 10:30 o'clock Monday night, of Bright's disease after a short illness. He was born in Adams county, Nov. 23, 1844, being aged at the time of death 68 years, 4 months and 28 days. He was a Civil war veteran, having served with distinction in the Twenty-first Pennsylvania cavalry. He was mustered out of service after a year's hard service. He is survived by his wife, Jennie and seven children as follows: Mary Martha and Cecil E., at home; Mervin of Eusley, Ala.; Bertha of Pasadena, Cal, and Derbin and Ada of Pittsburgh. The funeral services will be held at his late home tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock and will be private. Interment in Rose Hill cemetery. Altoona Times, Altoona, Pa., Wednesday, April 23, 1913, page 7
