Lykens and a resident of Newry for more than a half-century, died at her home there on Sunday evening at 7 o'clock. Her death followed a short illness during which she was able to be about the home most of the time. She was a daughter of Charles and Hannah Nepper and was born at Clappertown on Oct. 18, 1859, and was one of a family of thirteen children born to that union. She was united in marriage with Mr. Lykens at Clappertown on Nov. 8, 1877. To this union six children were born, all of whom survive: Charles Lykens of Philadelphia, Proctor Lykens and Mrs. Grace Keagy, both of Altoona, Dean Lykens of Duncansville and Mrs. Arthur Hoover and Mrs. Bertie Weaver, both of Newry, and eighteen grandchildren. six great- grandchildren and three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Fannie Mosel of Hollidaysburg Mrs. Sallie Brumbaugh of Cherrytown, Huntingdon county, Mrs. Venie Isenberg: and Edward Nepper, both of Columbiana, O. Mrs. Lykens had resided in Newry for fifty-three years during which time she was a faithful and devoted member of the Lutheran church. Her friends were legion and her entire life an inspiration.
