He was born in Allentown, a son of Nathan and Mary (Newcomer) Lytle, but had worked as a plumber in Altoona for the past 45 years. He was of the United Brethren faith, a member of the Eagles and Moose. His wife, Mrs. Sarah Lytle, died March 29, 1932. Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Marie Metzger, Mrs. Mildred Poet, Mrs. Irene Runk, Mrs. Violet Daughenbaugh, Clarence, Elmer, William and Nathaniel, Jr., all of the city; 24 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, five sisters and one brother, Mrs. Bertha Gehrdes and Mrs. Virginia Johnson of Altoona, Mrs. Carrie Gates, Mrs. Dessie Harpster and Mrs. Florence Shaffer of Tyrone and Lawrence Lytle of Janesville.
