He was born in Allenville, Mifflin county, March 5, 1877, a son of Nathaniel and Mary (Newcomer) Lytle. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary (Tolin) Lytle and the following children: Catherine, Rita, Helen, Mary Agnes and Margaret Rose, all at home. Mrs. John Mock of Altoona, Ernest of Erie, William and Bernard both of Philadelphia and Robert with the Navy in Little Creek, Va., Lawrence, Francis and James all of Altoona. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren, two brothers, N. I. Lytle of Altoona and Lawrence of Janesville, and five sisters, Mrs. Dessie Harpster, Miss Caroline Gates, and Mrs. Florence Shaffer of Tyrone, Mrs. Virginia Johnson and Mrs. Bertha Gehrdes of Altoona. Mr. Lytle was a retired machinist of the Juniata shops completing 33 years service in March 1949. During World war II five of his sons were in the armed forces. He was a member of the Dewey camp, Spanish American War Veterans and of the Holy Rosary church, Juniata. Friends will be received at the home after 7 o'clock this evening.
