All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ Mrs. Anna MacCartney Mrs. Anna Marilla MacCartney, died Friday night at the Altoona hospital of a complication of diseases. She was admitted to the institution on September 8. Mrs. MacCartney was one of the oldest residents of this city, aged 78 years, and was born in Philadelphia, the daughter of Judge B. F. Rose and Marilla Rose both deceased. She spent practically her entire life in this city, having removed here with her family when quite young. Her father was for a number of years associate judge in the Blair county courts. She was united in marriage in 1871 to John C. MacCartney, of this city, who died in 1880. Surviving are two sons, B. F. MacCartney of 1819 Thirteenth Street and John F. MacCartney, also of this city. Two sisters, Mrs. Samuel H. Kaufman, of Wilmington and Miss Margaret Rose, of this city, also survive. The remains have been removed to the home of her son, B. F. MacCartney, from where the funeral will be held this afternoon with services to be conducted at the First Presbyterian church, Dr. J. W. Francis will officiate. Private interment will be made in Fairview cemetery. Mrs. MacCartney was a life long member of the First Presbyterian church and was affiliated with Delphi chapter, Eastern Star.
