MARION REED MACHTLEY

Of 2915 Seventh Avenue, died at his home at 7 o'clock last evening 
after a brief illness.  He was born in Altoona Aug. 5, 1894, a son of 
William S. and Sara (Miner) Machtley and worked as a clerk in the 
supervisor of expenditures office in Juniata.  Mr. Machtley was a 
member of Grace Evangelical and Reformed church, an elder in the church 
consistory and a member of the Churchmen's Brotherhood.  He was a 
veteran of World War I.  Surviving are his widow, the former Dorothy 
Knepper: two brothers, Kenneth M. of West Chester and Charles T. of 
Altoona; his stepmother, Mrs. Ada F. Machtley of Easton, and a half-
sister, Miss Mary Machtley of Easton.  Friends will be received at the 
Laughlin funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening.
