Mrs. Lydia Brumbaugh Maddocks, widow of Elder T. B. Maddocks and an aged resident of the cove, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Isaac Settle, near Henrietta, at noon on Tuesday. She was a daughter of Elder George and Elizabeth Brumbaugh, both deceased, and was born at Clover Creek, Aug. 2, 1838. She was united in marriage with Elder Thomas B. Maddocks June 3, 1856. He died 11 years ago. The following brothers survive: Isaac D. Brumbaugh of Hartville, O., Elder James D. Brumbaugh of Martinsburg, David D. of King, Pa., and Abraham of Westland, Pa. These children survive: Samuel B. Maddocks of New Enterprise, Henry of Duncansville, Rev. D. B. and Thomas Maddocks of Altoona, David of Roaring Spring, Mrs. George Scutchall of Drab, Mrs. Isaac Settle of Henrietta, Mrs. James Fink of Dayton, O., and Mrs. S. R. Whitefield of Saxton. Thirty-two grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren also survive. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren. The funeral will be held this forenoon at 10 o'clock with services at the Church of the Brethren at Martinsburg. Interment will be made in the Brumbaugh cemetery at Clover Creek.
