James Maddox, colored, aged 20, died at the Altoona hospital at 1.55 o'clock yesterday morning, from lobar pneumonia. He was admitted more than a week ago and his condition was critical from the first. Maddox came here from Watertown, Fla., last fall and was working near Tyrone for the Pennsy. His wife, Mrs. Maddox, of Watertown has been notified and pending word from her the remains will probably be left at the hospital morgue. Altoona Times, Altoona, Pa., Monday Morning, May 6, 1918 JAMES MADDOX. James Maddox, a colored man from Florida, died at the Altoona hospital at 1:30 o'clock Sunday morning of lobar pneumonia. He was aged 20 years and was employed as a laborer by the Pennsylvania Railroad company, being located in the Tyrone camp. He leaves a wife, Sarah Maddox, at Watertown, Fla.
