Maher, of 810 Eighth street, died at her home last evening at 8:34 o'clock, after a three weeks' illness from bronchitis and heart failure. She was born in Cambria county, June 18, 1849, and was a daughter of John and Catherine Baker, both deceased. Three weeks ago she contracted a heavy cold, and since then has steadily declined in health. She was a devout member of St. Mark's Roman Catholic church, and a consistent Christian woman, possessed of a host of admiring friends. Surviving are her husband, two sons, Joseph and John, both of Altoona, and five sisters: Mrs. William Burket, of Duncansville; Mrs. Gertrude Hileman, of 810 Eighth street, and Misses Mattie, Celia and Francis, all at home. Two brothers and two sisters as well as seventeen grandchildren also survive. The brothers, both of Cambria county, are Sebastine and Joseph Baker, the sisters being Mrs. Anthony Detrick, of Patton, and Mrs. Maria Hettle, of Somerhill [sic]. Funeral services over the remains of Mrs. Agnes Maher, of 810 Eighth street, will be conducted at St. Mark's Roman Catholic church, Thursday morning at 9 o'clock, a requiem high mass to be said by the rector, Rev.
