JEANNE L. MAHONEY 

  Mrs. Jeanne L. Mahoney, age 77, of RD 4, Huntingdon and a former 
Tyrone resident died Friday, December 31, 2004 at 6:29 p.m. at Tyrone 
Hospital. She was born March 4, 1927 in Tyrone, the daughter of Gilbert 
and Helen Smith Lucas. She is survived by a daughter Barbara, wife of 
Dr. Brian Hoover of Huntingdon RD 4; four grandchildren: Chris Seftas, 
Huntingdon; Brian P. Hoover, a senior at Bucknell University, 
Lewisburg; Lindsey M. and Kaitlyn N. Hoover, both of Huntingdon; two 
brothers: Jack Lucas of Tyrone and Robert Lucas of Bowie, MD; one 
sister: Patty Lucas of Philadelphia. She was preceded in death by a 
sister, Beverly Heren.
  Mrs. Mahoney was a graduate of Tyrone High School Class of 1945 and 
the Episcopal Hospital School of Nursing, Philadelphia. She was 
employed at the Tyrone Hospital as a Registered Nurse retiring in 1987 
and later retired in 1996 from the Home Nursing Agency. She was a 
member of the Lower Spruce Creek Presbyterian Church. She had been a 
Girl Scout leader, was a member of the Business and Professional 
Women's Club of Tyrone and the Tyrone Hospital Auxiliary. She 
particularly enjoyed her grandchildren and followed all of their 
various activities.
  Funeral service for Jeanne L. Mahoney will be held Tuesday, January 
4, 2005 at 12 p.m. at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. with 
Reverend Norman E. Huff officiating. Interment will be in Blair 
Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11 
a.m. until the hour of service. Contributions in her memory may be made 
to the Tyrone Hospital Auxiliary, 1 Hospital Drive, Tyrone, PA 16686.
