Felix Mainla, an Italian, the Man Who Was Found Dead. The body of the man found in the woods in Sugar run ravine has been identified as that of Felix Mainla, an Italian. It was found by John Brubaker, who operates a saw mill in that vicinity. Coroner McCartney after making his investigation ordered the body removed to the almshouse. It was taken there yesterday morning. Steward Bridenbaugh had the remains examined, but could find no trace of any bullet wounds or foul play. Mainla ran a "speak-easy" near Allegrippus and sold his supply of wet goods to men employed on the railroad work at that point. His death was caused by alcoholism. He was last seen Saturday afternoon washing clothing in a stream and is supposed to have lain down in a drunken stupor to sleep. It is thought he died Saturday night. Deputy Coroner Harry McCartney will investigate the case. Morning Tribune, Wednesday, November 11, 1899
