All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _______________________________________________ JOHN MALADY, An old and well known watchman of the Pennsylvania Railroad company, died at his room, 1006 Green avenue, at 3:43 yesterday afternoon of tuberculosis, after an illness dating since last August. Deceased was about 60 years and had been a resident of Altoona for the past thirty-eight years. He was employed in the Altoona yard for a time, but after losing a leg through an accident he was given employment in the bolt shop where he worked for a number of years and more recently he was watchman at the shop gate at Eleventh avenue and Seventh street. He was a member of St. John's Catholic church and is survived by five brothers and one sister: William, Daniel and Thomas of Altoona; Patrick of Tyrone; James of near Pittsburg and Mrs. Mary Harkey of Juniata. The funeral will take place Monday morning, services to be conducted at 9 o'clock at St. John's church. Interment in St. John's cemetery. FUNERAL NOTICE. The funeral of John Malady will be held Monday morning, the cortege to leave the home of the decedent's brother, 20 Washington avenue at 2.30 and proceed to St. John's church where mass will be solemnized.
