MANNING Of 620 Mulberry street, Hollidaysburg, died yesterday morning at 12.25 o'clock of a heart attack. He was born in Mount Union Nov. 27, 1877, a son of Morris and Margaret (Smawley) Manning, and entered the Pennsylvania railroad service as a messenger boy Feb. 2, 1891. He later became a machinist apprentice and learned his trade in the Altoona shops under the supervision of Peter Moore. He was employed by the railroad for 55 years and received his 50-year button in 1941 under George Lipton, foreman. Mr. Manning was the last of his immediate family and is survived by his wife, Delia (Marks) Manning. Friends are being received at the home.
