Manning who died Friday morning, Oct. 11, of pneumonia, following an attack of influenza at Fort Adams, Rhode Island, arrived at Williamsburg on Saturday and were taken to the rooms of Undertaker H. O. Snively. The young man enlisted early last spring and left with a contingent of Blair county men to different camps and finally was transferred to Fort Adams. He is survived by his father, William Manning, of Mt. Etna, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Elsie Putt, Mrs. Rose Lingenfelter of Canoe Creek, Mrs. Ida Kennedy of Cleveland, O., Miss Margaret Manning of Brownsville, Pa., and Privates C. D. and Samuel R. Manning, who enlisted April, 1917 and for the past six months engaged in active service in the trenches. Private services will be conducted this afternoon at 2 o'clock in the parlors of Undertaker Snively by Rev. J. M. Rearick. Interment in Yellow Springs cemetery.
