MAPES Mrs. Mapes, 87, of 560 Cherry St., Roaring Spring, died at 4:17 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, 1988, at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring. She was born July 21, 1901, in Normalville, Fayette County, the daughter of David R. and Amanda (Ritenour) Scott, and Feb. 1, 1927, in Hollidaysburg, married Joseph F. Mapes, who died Dec. 25, 1938. Surviving are seven children: Joseph F. Jr. of Santa Ana, Calif., and Daniel P., Mabel M. Keagy, Paul H., Carl E., Betty A. Dick and Timothy L. of Roaring Spring; 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Mapes was a member of the Faith Assembly of God Church, Roaring Spring, where she taught Sunday school for many years and was a member of the adult Bible class. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Thompson Funeral Home, Roaring Spring. MAPES - Services for Beulah M. Mapes of 560 Cherry St., Roaring Spring, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Faith Assembly of God Church, Roaring Spring, by the Rev. Leonard Richendrfer. Interment at Greenlawn Cemetery, Roaring Spring. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Thompson Funeral Home, Roaring Spring. Memorial contributions may be given to Faith Assembly of God Church Memorial Fund. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren: a grandchild in 1954, and a grandson, Steve A.
