NORA (LEIGHTY) MARBLE Wife of Samuel Marble, died this morning at her home, 1120 Fourth avenue, Duncansville, death coming suddenly at 5.45 o'clock just as she was about to arise to prepare breakfast. Mrs. Marble had been in failing health for some time with a heart condition. About eleven weeks ago she suffered a fall down the stairs and to better her condition the bedroom was moved to the first floor. As she attempted to arise this morning her husband noticed her slump and hurriedly called a physician, who pronounced her dead and attributed her death to a heart ailment. Mrs. Marble was a daughter of Henry and Anna Elizabeth Leighty and was born at Puzzletown on June 16, 1889. She was united in marriage with Samuel Marble on April 24, 1909. Surviving are the husband, one daughter, Mrs. Charles Stoltz of Duncansville, and these brothers and sisters: Jeremiah Leighty of St. Joseph, Mo., Mrs. Mollie Treml of Lilly, Mrs. Martha Shaw of Altoona, Boyd Leighty of Johnstown, Wilbur, Charles and Mrs. Nettie Gill, all of Duncansville. She was formerly a member of the Roaring Spring Mennonite church but for many years attended the Presbyterian church in Duncansville, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid society. Friends are being received at the home where the body may be viewed after tomorrow morning. Altoona Mirror, August 9, 1937 MARBLE - Funeral services for Mrs. Nora (Leighty) Marble will be conducted in the Newry Lutheran church Thursday morning at 10.30 o'clock in charge of Rev. Julian Paris, pastor of the Duncansville Presbyterian church. Interment will be made in the Newry Lutheran cemetery. Friends are being received at the home at 1120 4th Ave., Duncansville.
