MARKEY Died at 10:30 o'clock Saturday night, at his residence, 917 Fifth avenue, from a complication of diseases, after an illness of four months. Deceased was one of Altoona's most respected citizens and was born May 2, 1836. He was married to Mary Ann Nolan on May 11, 1862. Five children survive, as follows: Mr. A. E. Thomas of east Liberty; Mrs. T. A. Beam, Harry J. and Miss Lillian of this city. These brothers and sisters also survive: Christian G. of Frankstown township, Daniel of Baker's Station, Jacob M. of Missouri and Mrs. John W. Smith of this city. Deceased had been employed as a carpenter for the past 31 years by the company. He was a member of Logan lodge, No. 1059, Independent Order of Odd Fellows; Hancock castle, No. 124, Ancient Order Knights of the Mystic Chain; Altoona council, No. 15, Order Chosen Friends, and of the Altoona (P.R.R.) fire department, since the latter's organization. The funeral will take place at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon and the interment will be made in Fairview cemetery. Altoona Mirror, February 17, 1896
