Samuel Marshall, of Juniata Gap, died at 7 a.m. yesterday of Bright's disease, at his home. He was ill one month, and was born 72 years ago in Ireland. Coming to this country in 1871, he was employed by the Pennsy at the freight shop, where he worked until his retirement two years ago. He was a member of Eighth Avenue Methodist Episcopal church, and the P.R.R. relief association. His wife, nee Miss Anna Rankin, survives with two sons and two daughters: Mrs. William Stewart, Juniata; James and Jennie, both at home, and Samuel Marshall, with American expeditionary forces in France. Funeral services will be held at his late home at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Burial in Fairview cemetery. Altoona Tribune, Friday, January 24, 1919, page 10
