Mr. William Marshall, one of Altoona's oldest citizens, died at the residence of his son-in-law, William B. Ford, general foreman of the erecting shop, 1301 Fourth avenue, at twenty minutes past 7 o'clock last evening. The deceased was born in Lebanon, Lebanon county, and was 79 years of age on the 17th of last June. He came to this city about the year 1858 and carried on his business, that of a plasterer, for many years. He had been in failing health for three months past and on the 21st of July was stricken with paralysis, from the effects of which he never recovered. During his illness he received excellent medical attendance and careful nursing, but despite all this he gradually grew weaker and death claimed him at the time stated. His wife died in this city thirteen years ago. To them were born fourteen children, of whom four are now living, who are as follows: William J. Marshall, residing in Florida; James B. and Alexander Marshall, and Mrs. William B. Ford, all of whom reside in this city. The arrangements for the funeral have not yet been completed but will be announced to-morrow. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Wednesday, August 1, 1888
