MARGARET MARTZ Mrs. Margaret Martz, widow of the late William Martz and well known to many people in the Altoona district, died on Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock in the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. C. McCalmont, in Philadelphia. "Aunt Maggie" Martz as she was affectionately called by numerous relatives and friends, spent many years of a long life in Altoona and Juniata. With an unusually sweet disposition only mellowed into fragrance by advanced age she was dearly beloved by all who knew her and tidings of her death bring reminder of the reward that comes to the true Christian. Mrs. Martz was 76 years of age and her death was caused by asthmatic affection with other trouble incident to her years. She is survived by four children - Mrs. E. C. McCalmont and James Martz, of Philadelphia; William, of Huntingdon, and Norris, of State College. Also by three brothers and three sisters - J. W. and D. B. Norris and Mrs. Berry Ray, of Juniata; Henry Norris and Mrs. Harriet Pennington, of State College, and Mrs. Jane Brotherton, of Collinsville. Her husband, who was a veteran of the Civil war, died twenty-five years ago. The remains will be brought to Juniata today and funeral service will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock in the home of J. W. Norris, 607 Fifth avenue, Juniata. The deceased lady was a devoted Christian and for almost all of her life a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. Services over her remains will be conducted by Rev. Alexander Lamberson, pastor of the First M. E. church, of Juniata. Interment will be made in Fairview cemetery. Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Tuesday Morning, December 12, 1916
