His name is officially carried in the casualty list this morning as having been officially killed in action. Mascia some weeks ago was reported as missing in action and since then the family have been hopeful that he was living, believing that he had likely been taken a prisoner. He was selected for service early last year and was sent to Camp Lee, Va., for training and was early sent overseas for duty. He was aged 22 years and previous to the war was employed as a bushelman by S. March & Sons, at their store on Eleventh avenue. He was a popular young fellow and is survived by his parents and several brothers and sisters. Altoona Tribune, Thursday, January 9, 1919, page 12
