Mrs. Jacob Lusch, wife of the proprietor of the Crystal hotel on Green avenue, has returned from Brooklyn, where she attended the funeral of her nephew, Charles R. Mason, aged 23, of that place, who was killed on board ship, when the ship on which he was journeying to France was struck by a torpedo on Oct. 3. Mason enlisted in June, immediately following the death of his mother and was on his way to France as a dispatch rider. He sailed from an Atlantic port on Sept. 22. He is survived by one brother, Coburn Mason, in the service of the United States army. The following relatives also survive and they were at the funeral: his grandfather, C. L. Arnold, of Brooklyn and the following aunts and uncles: Mrs. Jacob Lusch of this city, Mrs. Jennie Lauterborn of New York city, John Arnold and C. L. Arnold of Harnell, N.Y., Mrs. W. C.
