JOHN WESLEY MASON

  John Wesley Mason, a well known resident of the Second ward, died at his 
home, 109 Tenth street, at 9:30 o'clock last night of heart failure.  He had 
not been in good health for several weeks.  Deceased was born at Kenneth 
[sic] Square, Chester county, on September 17, 1859, and came to Altoona with 
his parents in 1861 and had since resided here.  He entered the service of 
the Pennsylvania Railroad company in 1882 and was well known among the 
shopmen.  He was a member of the Church of God and the P.R.R. Relief 
association.  He is survived by his wife and two children, Denver and Mary, 
both at home.  He is also survived by one brother, Charles W. Mason, of 
Juniata county.  The funeral arrangements have not been completed and will be 
announced later.

FUNERAL NOTICE.

  Funeral services for the late John W. Mason, of 109 Tenth street, will be held 
at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at First Church of God.  The funeral will be public.  
Burial in Fairview cemetery.
