MRS. VERNA W. MATER

Of 1331 Logan Blvd., died unexpectedly at her home at 3 a.m. today.  She was 
born in Altoona on Aug. 2, 1906, a daughter of Ira and Mary (Williams) 
Soyster, and married Robert A. Mater in Cumberland, Md., Oct. 10, 1925.  
Surviving are her husband, three children, Richard L. of Lewistown, Terry G. 
of Johnstown and Joline L., at home; six grandchildren, two sisters and four 
brothers, Mrs. Dorothy Spellmyer and George of the city, Mrs. Edna Kimberling 
of Dillsburg, Sheldon of Erie, Elvin of Sacramento, Calif., and Robert of St. 
Louis, Mo.  She was a member of the Foot of Ten Independent Bible Church.  
Friends will be received in the Gilden-Barton Funeral Home from 7 to 10 p.m. 
tomorrow, 2 to 10 p.m. Friday.

MATER - Services for Mrs. Verna W. Mater of 1331 Logan Blvd., will be held at 
2 p.m. Saturday in the Gilden-Barton Funeral Home, by the Rev. Glenn Yeckley.  
Interment in Alto Reste Burial Park.  Friends will be received in the funeral 
home from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday, 2 to 10 p.m. Friday.
