Things Briefly Told.

  The wife of Adam Mathews died at Duncansville on Thursday last of 
dropsy.  For a time there were unpleasant rumors in regard to the 
lady's death, but these have been proven to be entirely without 
foundation.  The funeral will take place to-day.

Death of an Old Lady.

  The wife of Adam Mathews, a resident of Duncansville, died on 
Thursday morning and was buried in the Catholic graveyard at that place 
on Friday.  Mrs. Mathews was about 85 years of age, and there was not a 
week passed for years that she did not walk to Hollidaysburg to sell 
our residents vegetables, etc.
