His funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from his late residence on Seventh avenue, between Twenty- second and Twenty-third streets. The circumstances of the family are very distressing. His wife is lying dangerously ill, also his sister - so ill that the attending physician will permit no one to be in either room. There are six children left to mourn his loss. Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Thursday, March 26, 1874, page 3 Floyd G. Hoenstine, Soldiers of Blair County, page 227: Mattingly, James E., Pvt.
