ELMER ELLSWORTH MAURER

A retired carpenter of 1102 1/2 Seventeenth avenue, died at his home last 
evening.  He was born in Juniata gap on Oct. 28, 1861, a son of George and 
Eliza (MacCartney) Maurer, and was married to Lydia Jane Swartz, who died July 
4, 1943.  Surviving are one son, Floyd O. Maurer, two daughters, Mrs. Elnore 
Marlett and Mrs. Philip A. Burket, all of Altoona;  two brothers, H. A. Maurer 
and L. W. Maurer of San Antonio, Tex., five grandchildren and one great-
grandchild.  Friends will be received at the Laughlin Funeral home this 
evening.  Interment in Grandview Cemetery.
