Mr. Henry Maus, one of Hollidaysburg's oldest and most respected citizens, died on yesterday morning at 9 o'clock. The funeral will take placed on Friday at 2 o'clock from his late residence on Walnut street, and proceed to the Lutheran cemetery. The deceased was 63 years of age, and has resided in our town for some forty years. He was loved and respected by all. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Thursday, January 22, 1880 HOLLIDAYSBURG HAPPENINGS. DUST TO DUST. At 2 o'clock yesterday all that was mortal of Mr. Henry Maus was consigned to the grave. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. E. L. Ryder, of the Lutheran church, assisted by Rev. J. A. De Moyer, of the Methodist, and Rev. D. H. Barron of the Presbyterian. Thomas Thompson, John Wigham, John Carl, J. A. Lemon, J. P. Stewart and S. S. Barr acted as pall bearers. The cortege of mourning relatives and friends was large, notwithstanding the day was cold, damp and stormy. The deceased had no enemies but many friends.
