COX, Wife of Allen McCartney, died at her home in Alexandria yesterday morning of heart trouble. She was born at Antis, near Bellwood, June 22 1854, a daughter of Rev. Samuel and Nancy Cox. Following her marriage fifty four years ago she and her husband moved to Juniata where they resided until eight years ago when they moved to Alexandria. Surviving are her husband, two daughters, Mrs. W. S. Baker of Alexandria, and Mrs. Glenn Wagner of East St. Louis, and one son, Jerry C. McCartney of Claysville, Pa., and ten grandchildren. She was a life member of the First Church of the Brethren of this city and was extremely active in the church and Sunday school work during her residence in Juniata, serving as superintendent of the Sunday school in Juniata for a number of years. In Alexandria she attended the Presbyterian church. Short funeral services will be held at the late home in Alexandria Sunday noon with Rev. Stewart officiating. Further services will be held in the First Church of the Brethren in this city, the services to be held on arrival of the funeral cortege from Alexandria.
